Approaching the holidays is exciting… AND a little bit stressful. They’re so many rounds of desserts, sugary drinks and sodium filled carby snacks. Like most, my jeans don’t fit right come January. It’s just a frustrating cycle every single year.
Working in the salon, they’re magazines everywhere, all containing the same cover stories, AKA lies, this time of year. “SLIM THRU DECEMBER” “DESSERT BURNING WORKOUT INSIDE” “GET RID OF MUFFIN TOPS!” These simply don’t work, mostly because we don’t stick to them.
Moral of the story: this season I plan to have willpower. Don’t get me wrong, pumpkin pie is my fave, and my Gram makes some amazing dips, not to mention I’m dating a stud who’s family is Greek & Italian, so naturally the food at his place is out of control. I will enjoy these things, but I’ll just have to turn my willpower on to make sure my jeans fit come January.
According to Psychology Today, willpower is like a muscle, and you can teach it “willpower bodybuilding”. So the harder we work to create these good habits, the more habitual they’ll feel. That’s encouraging!

What’s trending with dudes right now?!
I’m crushin hard on TAILORED SUITS. Listen. Every man, needs one tailored suit in their closet as their “go to” suit. It needs to be tailored… can NOT have pleats, (sad that I need to specify) … and doesn’t need to be black!
ALSO… sensitivity. We dig it.. it’s cool. BE NICE.
Plain and simple… just give a shit.
What’s not trending… full body waxing. Stop doing it! Hair is sexy and masculine. Cleaning up and staying trimmed and fresh is always a DO. But stop with the full bod man-wax sesh. It’s a dont.
Accesorising.. it’s a DUH.
Watch, socks, cool bracelet, even earrings, whatever… I love when men take styling risks. It shows confidence= a DO.

You’re better than the GAP, open a door for the girls, and spritz on some delish fragrance… (preferably NOT the same one you’ve been wearing since you were in high school.

I’m all about the basics right now.
A solid pant + textured tee = done. Well… almost done.
Ladies, (and dudes), we need to be accessorizing. Load on a couple necklaces, diamond studs (fake is FINE), and mismatch your tones. Silver ring, rose gold watch, gold necklace with some turquoise, anything goes.
Lets work to pump it up a little. As the season gets chillier, we get into hibernation mode. Ya know, with loading on sweaters and zipping into our fat jeans? This winter, I refuse to get on fashion autopilot and will seriously look cute. Even on my day off!
Look good. Feel good.

Aside from amazing hair masks and serums… there’s your diet. Make sure you’re getting your protein, and drinking plenty of H20 for the healthiest of hair.
