I have a love hate relationship with sunglasses. I love (/need) to wear them, but hate when I loose them. I’ve never not lost or broken my sunnies, no matter how cheap or expensive. I’ve been dying to rock some cat eye shades, but the style takes me so far out of my comfort zone.
Then, I spotted the Tom Ford tortoise cat eye frames. The classic tortoise balanced the risky shape. Then, I spotted the price tag. SHEESH. Typically when this happens, I’ll seek out a savvier version, but I graciously let it go.
Weeks later, I found the Cheap Monday pair. They are so stinkin cute and even less of a cat shape, therefore, less risky for me=more wearable. So of course they’re en route to me as we speak!
SAVE with CHEAP MONDAY for $21.11
SPLURGE with TOM FORD for $360.00
Okay, I’m dying to know, which do you prefer? The Cheap Monday $AVE, or the Tom Ford $PLURGE…

I’ve been on quite the indecisive streak lately. YourStylistAJ.com will be getting a makeover soon, which brings on a million decisions to make, and while I’m SO excited, you’d think I’m picking out a tattoo. And well, actually, I’m deciding on a tattoo as well.
Then there’s my haircolor. I finally have the ombre of my dreams, but in January I get to spend a week in Mexico, so I need to be bright blonde for that right?
I’m traditionally a listmaker, but I haven’t been able to find to time to even do that, therefore “make a list” is on my mental list. Sheesh.
How do you make time for things? In my case I need to free up some time to organize my thoughts and relax. So! I have an appointment for a blowout in a bit, (I’m out of town), so I can sit and make my list!
If you don’t have a list of things you should be doing instead of reading this silly blog, or you’d like to procrastinate, check out these finds from the WWW:

Have you heard of Trunk Club?
If you live in Chicago, the answer is most likely yes… but no matter where you are, you don’t want to stop reading.
Trunk Club was started as an alternative for men’s shopping. Shopping for clothes in stores or online doesn’t jive with most men. It’s overwhelming, inconvenient, and you know men… they’d rather spend their time on fantasy football.
After recently attending the TC & GANT private event, I’m totally obsessed with TC… why didn’t I think up such an amazing concept? With Trunk Club, guys get a catered wardrobe without shopping. TC combines top brands, (like John Varvatos! YUM), expert service, (um a personal stylist), and convenient delivery, (like, to your door), resulting in a highly personalized experience that helps guys look their best and saves them time.
We all have a dude in our life who needs a little upgrade. Boyfriend, husband, boss… Help them kick the pleated pants and step into what they deserve. You gotta look good to feel to perform, right?
The holidays are practically here, my eight week color clients are already booking into 2013… what?! Trunk Club is your holiday gift solution, and my girl Kim Breese, is your go-to stylist. Purchase a gift card with her through December 24 and your man even scores a free pair of socks. You’re welcome ;)

A serious jam to kick off your week! ZZ is my girl.
Jayson Home is ridiculously amazing. If you haven’t checked it out, do so… you’ll start and finish your Christmas list today. ALSO, their customer service is UHmazing, and that’s super important to me.
These maternity photos are different in the best of ways. Maternity photos of strangers can be uncomfortable to view because pregnancy is just so personal, but these are just awesome.
Every lady needs stationary. Join me!
If you love your hair you’ll buy this brush. If you love your hair but don’t want to spend $100+ on a brush, you’ll buy this one.
Pretty face jewelry.
The sweater I wanted. The sweater I ordered. Proud.
Geeky sexy. You’re welcome.

Your Stylist AJ is featured on MAKEUP.COM today! You might remember the above photo from THIS TUTORIAL. When I created this tutorial, it was a last minute, “shoot I need to post a hair tutorial… what have I done lately” situation, and it has somehow BLOWN UP on Pinterest with 892 pins! (what!)
When MAKEUP.COM contacted me about the feature I was smitten. Thank you!

I fell in love with all things scalloped in the Spring, and yes it’s now November, but I’m far from over it.
After my last sassy mani, I decided to do something a bit sweeter. What do you think?
The colors above are both Essie. The base color is “Love and Acceptance” and the tip color is “Fiji”.
- Paint your nails as usual, then with a toothpick or nail dotting tool, create small dots of paint
- Connect the dots toward the tip of the nail
- Spread the bubble of polish in a circular motion until your desired scallops are set
- Top coat (not pictured)
Stay sweet!

Happy November! (<—-woah.)
This morning I spent some girl time with two of my faves, Emilia and Shannon, to play hair and make-up. While at Em’s house, we got to view Samm and Mason’s engagment photos from last week.
Between Emilia behind the camera, Shannon on makeup and me curling away, Samm became a pro model, and this… a Burberry ad lookalike.
After ten years of dating, congratulations on your romantic engagement!

LOVED the responses to last week’s inspiration post! Thank you to everyone who participated, every word was heartwarming and well… inspiring.
Congratulations to our winner, Amber Heavner! Miss Amber has won a $50 gift card for services with me at Thomas West Salon!
ALSO, congratulations to Erica Ellis. Miss Erica has won a full size Aveda product for her inspiring words!
In case you missed it, Amber’s inspiring mindset:
“Inspiration, eh… Well, I can personally say that I am constantly inspired by the goodness in people. Yes, just about anyone could credit Dalai Lama, Mother Theresa, heck, even Oprah with spreading goodness to humanity. These people are extraordinary. However, I find that I am most inspired by just your average person. The person who chases after you when you left your coat behind on the train. T
he guy who helped me pick up my groceries after my bag broke. The lady that spotted me a quarter on the bus my first week in the city because I was a couple of cents short. The gentleman that returned my cell phone to me after it had fallen out of my purse onto the sidewalk. None of these people had to do any of these things… but they did. And it changed my day, my month, my year. It made me not feel so small in such and intimidating, and sometimes harsh, place. To me, it’s the trivial things. They inspire me to be more gracious, attentive, giving. And… it’s contagious. Goodness is electric, and the tiny, trivial things we do could change someone’s day, who changes someone else’s week, who change’s another person’s life. It’s the little things that inspire me, AJ. And the best part is, well, that goodness I am referring to is in all of us. It’s free of charge and available 24/7. I am simply inspired to tap into it as often as possible.”
